Ok, so I did a test drive with the MultiJet 150 today. Compared with the T-Jet, it has a little bit more torque but it has some shortcomings. The torque is mostly present between 2000-3500RPM, so you have to change gears often. The gearbox is more rubbery than that of the T-Jet, the clutch a little bit heavier.
I believe the Abarth 595 engine is the same unit, tuned to 145, 160 or 180bhp too. The only thing you need to watch on the Bravo is that many engines including the T-JET use the General Motors M32 gearbox, which has an appetite for bearings. It'll be whining if there's an imminent problem though.
hi guys my bravo was last night written off by a delivery van :'( so now looking at getting a 1.8 16v Bravo/ Marea just wanted to know the differences between the engines to make the 135bhp in the punto but only 115bhp in the bravo ??? are the changes easy to implement into the Bravo/Marea ???
T- Jet engine is quite high compression and bhp per litre and runs on iridium plugs, hence my comment. I have worked at an engine manufacture and know whats involved in running on lpg, in my opinion the T-Jet is already quite highly stressed so not suitable for an aftermarket lpg conversion. I am sure a reputable lpg specialist would decline. I was looking at this when I blew my engine, the amount of work is ridiculous for an engine swap, a lot more than the engine mounts to Vqje.
