Hi, I would go with the f/2.8 aperture. Shooting a crop sensor in a dim theater I would really like more than f/4 to work with. Compare the 80d and 60d in high ISO on DXO mark. The improvement is not huge. The 24-70 is by all accounts a beautiful and sharp lens. On a budget you might consider
The 24-105 f4 RF maybe a mini van lens. From what I see the RF version is better than the EF version. The 24-70 f2.8 is over 2x the cost of the 24-105 f4. I would expect anything that costs over 2.x the cost to be better. I would expect a $45K mini van to be much nicer than a $25K mini van. Depends on your budget and income and needs/wants. has a silent focus motor built into the lens. Canon EF 300mm F2.8L IS II USM. Canon EF 500mm F/4L IS II USM. Lenses with built-in focus motor focus faster and more quietly than lenses without a focus motor which rely on the camera's body focus motor. minimum focus distance. Let's test the new Canon RF 24-70mm F2.8 lens against the EF 24-70mm F2.8 Mark II on two sets of different images. We'll look at images produced using the C Gen 2 much better. The RF 24-105 has IS, is light and portable, your mirrorless has much better low light noise control. I have pics in LR from the EF 24-70 Gen 1, the Gen 2, the RF 24-70 F2.8, and the RF 24-105 F4.0 (plus a lot of other lenses.) The RF 24-105 lives on the camera almost as much as the RF 100-500. 70mm, the center of the frame: at f/2.8 Sigma is only slightly softer than the Canon. Starting at f/5.6, both lenses are practically identical in terms of sharpness. 70mm, edges of the frame: at 2/2.8, there’s more detail and all edges are nice and sharp with the Canon lens. The difference is obvious at this point, but this time, the Sigma
Also the Canon 24-70 2.8 II is way out of my budget. For the Sigma 24-70 F2.8 has not so good reviews (especially regarding sharpness at 2.8). So I would think that this can be left outside of the 3. What I'm most interested is the comparison between the Canon 24-70 F4 and the Sigma 24-105 F4.
