The Demons are a race of spirits with no inherent form, who are forged and driven by the negative thoughts and feelings of mortals. Specifically, demons malign and manipulate victims to sate their own desires for suffering. Each demon is attuned to a specific emotion, feeding on those emotions until the victim inevitably dies.

League lore is absurdly well done for being a bit piece in a non-story-based multiplayer game. There's a lot of factions and locations with believable and interesting worldbuilding, characters with really genuine motivations and conflicts, and this great general sense of scale and scope to it all.
