Had the C-Max 5 months (2004 2.0 TDCI Ghia) and it's been great. Unfortunately recently it's had a startup problem where it seems to run really rough almost on 2 cylinders, lots of smoke as well. Phoned the AA they could not come until the morning so I put the battery on charge as it had gone low with me constantly trying to start it.

One fob continues to work as it should, and the the other doesn't - the one that is now having problems was previously the main remote fob used by my wife. The one was no issues was the spare so they have been swapped.

Hi all. seems i,ve got new problems all the time, anyway, my cmax 1.6 tdci has problems starting but not all the time. It took about 5 mins to start this morning and it cut out when I was driving home from work the other day and I had to leave about 10 mins to start it again.

Push button start & since this morning says Engine start pending it’s a C Max 2013. Just won’t start. You just have to leave your foot on the clutch for a bit longer, then it will,start its the glow plugs heating up that causes the delay the colder it is the longer the wait. Posted February 13, 2020.
